ANTONIO J. MOLINA
ART CRITIC, AICA PARIS
JORGE ROZO`S ARTWORK Is a color extravaganza which enthuses us because this painter has taken over the sun. What a domain of drawing and modeling!, we can see it in all his paintings, as much as in his human figures, as in those piafantes horses, and the charm of his land and marinescapes. He creates a paradise with what his pupils catch and what his painting knife works; is a genuine chant to the creation and to everything that surounds him, because he is in love with life.
It dazzles the brightness of his "chromas" exalting each detail of nature and shows tenderness when he stops with affection before the concept of maternity, unique in the universe.
Rozo's artworks are bountiful in interpretations, it's awaking relations with events and subjects. How a mother seems under the sun, while carrying her child!, how the air moves the manes of a galloping horse!, how the waves whirlpool throws them as if it were frolicking with them!. These interpretations, I repeat, with all the colors of the rainbow in fantastic and innovating combinations unite us with nature making us an integral part of it. What makes to advance the art, is in first place, the existence of a great artist as the one we present now, an artist who is able to open new paths, new formula and vision of the lusting color, new boldness in drawing like Rozo's.
The new aesthetics spreads thanks to the masters, not to the imitators. In this show we have a good example of the artist knowing how to free the human figure. He does his thing while painting a portrait of water against a cliff. He gives a sublime inner strength to the noble beast of the horse. In short, he plays with great audacity and knowledge to show us a window to color and life. His paintings are museum pieces. They're practically lessons on art.
This painter is a magician, a mistic jewelry goldsmith. Turns the sea in sapphires and emeralds through its color; the red in some of his trees trunks below sun light are like a brilliant ruby; the horses fur and mane are like topaz, and the voluptuous flesh of the black women carrying their young, resemble the amathiste colour. I assure you that I have never seen so much imagination in his color theory, the marines are exceptional.
All the plastic experiences appear successfully treated with a trascendent and convincing realism. Each of his pictures presents an essential fragment of this world that wants to be real, but with a magistral touch, that is the least thing I can say of a master.
¡CONGRATULATIONS!
